- What is my age:
- I am 46
From personal family loss these experiences shaped my vision to provide a first class service, knowing that home care could be much more personal and of exceptionally high quality. Opening local offices and ing the Home Instead family has given me the chance to really make a difference to many lives, clientsfamilies and those involved in their care. I have always been active in the local community, trained as a Dementia Champion raising awareness of Dementia and Alzheimer's. I have also worked closely with local charities, as a former trustee of a charity supporting a primary school and an allotment group!
These conditions may affect the person's ability to build a telephone friendship with a volunteer. Telephone Befriending Volunteers. Please contact Julia Day: or Julia.
There is no charge for this service. All volunteers are reference checked and receive a full induction before commencing calls.
In some instances, people with these conditions may actually find the calls more distressing. Although volunteers receive a thorough induction in preparation to commencing calls, they are not trained counsellors or therapists.
We have friendly volunteers on hand who can make a regular call to you and are matched with shared interests and common ground in mind. If this level of service is required, we can help post to the appropriate organisations. A telephone befriending call may not be suitable for people with memory loss, dementia or mental health issues who require higher level support.
If you like the idea of chatting on the phone, then you will enjoy our companionship calls. A friendly volunteer will ring you for a regular chat at a time that is convenient for you both.
