I’ll have to wait until the weekend to try what you recommended, but I believe you are onto something. You should see the serial one flash when you setup the KFD driver, if this isn’t happening check to see if you are using the correct serial cable.

If nothing is happening check that the power switch on the side of the KFD is on. I can make this fault happen when there is no KFD plugged in. I get a “KFD32 Error: Last time I commissioned a Mitsubishi drive on DeviceNet, we found that the drive would not recognize the scanner going into Idle mode like on a controller fault and we ended up dropping power to the whole network in an Idle condition so that the drives would rdlinx run away when we put the controller into Program Mode.
I bet their is a parameter to select between the modes you had mentioned and I bet that the other installed cards had the parameters set to a mode that is causing this to occur.
